Bull Yard, built in the early eighteenth century. Demolished, 1936.
The Bull Yard was the site of regular entertainments including concerts and cockfighting. During the mid-Lent fair, booths and stalls were erected, there hosting such attractions as a wax museum and a 'Cabinet of Curiosities'. In 1809, Harry Venimore, a relation of earlier landlords of the Bull, was fined for keeping a brothel in the yard!
